Pride on the Beach

Google uses its presence at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity to promote diversity and inclusivity in the creative world.

 

And they wanted to give LGBTQ+ people in the industry a platform to speak about what they’ve achieved, how far they’ve come and what is still needed. While creating a place where everybody comes together to let go.

 

So for the last four years, at the end of a long week, we’ve taken back the beach and transformed it into the biggest rainbow celebration of pride that Cannes gets to see. Through an overnight turnaround, creative thinking, clever programming, and a whole lot of love.

 

From talks on current LBGTQ+ topics, dance classes led by drag queens, glitter body art and screenings of iconic movies to live bands, performances, and designing your own rainbow beachwear. All this whilst DJs spun a blend of iconic gay pride anthems across the beach. 

 

Everything is designed to epitomise freedom, fun and full on self-expression.
